dSPACE System

A dSPACE system comprising of a DS1104 R&D Controller Board and a CP1104 Connector Panel is used to allow communication between the hardware and the Simulink model. The dSPACE system requires the Real-time Workshop software, available from The Mathworks, to operate.

The hardware is connected with BNC connectors to the Connector Panel. The panel is connected to the Controller Board that is mounted in a spare PCI slot in the PC. The Controller Board performs the necessary signal processing to allow real-time running of the Simulink model.

The real-time simulation is controlled from the ControlDesk environment. The ControlDesk software is available from dSPACE and enables monitoring and  control of variables used in the Simulink model.
